Exciting... Delta?

Kev and I just celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary and it was Kevin's year to plan it, so what does he decide to do... Take me to scenic Delta? He wanted to show me where he has been working and some of the cool ROCK FORMATIONS down in the region. It really is adventurous being married to a Geologist.

The Road to Nowhere...

The Intermountain Power Plant, that powers California. You can see the steam from anywhere across the valley.

Here is Notch Peak, a jet stream, and the Moon.

Kevin at Topaz Mountain. See the Power Plant?

Topaz we found

This really cool rock at Topaz Mountain that was crazy and fun!

Marjum Pass is huge. The depth was amazing! Like going through Zion.

Here is the awesome sunset.

And last, but definitely not least... Our Beautiful MOTEL room. There was the Great Basin Drill Team Competition on Saturday and everything was booked, but the Rancher Motel. It really was like sleeping in Grandma Thomas's basement, even down to the art work. It was really an adventure.

I never knew Delta could be so exciting - I went there once, but I wasn't that impressed. I guess it depends on who you go with - and how into rocks you are. But you got some great pictures. Very impressive! Especially the sunset which I know must have been even more beautiful, since the colors are never quit as good in a photo. Looks like you had a great time!

I've always wanted to go to Topaz Mountain and look for topaz. My sis Michele has been there quite a few times and got some neat pieces of topaz. Maybe we'll have to have a family excursion there sometime, since I know you're just dying to go back again. Hey, it's an experience!

I've always wanted to go to Topaz mountain, too. Maybe I could talk my mom into going down there with me when I come to visit since it looks like she wants to go, too. And maybe, if we're lucky, we could even stay in the Rancher Motel.

I know it sounds like you all want to go, but I think I'll leave the adventure to you this time. It was TOO MUCH FUN. I'm not sure it can be topped. I didn't even post the picture of the crazy old guy who lives at Topaz Mountain in a tent with a cruddy old stove, who staked a CLAIM on Public Land!!
